In March 2014, the first lacrosse rubber ball made its appearance onto the fields of Taiwan. Since then, the seeds of lacrosse had been planted.

Introducing a new sport is not an easy task, especially in a place where such a sport was virtually unheard of. However, with persistent effort and much assistance from people who shared the same interest, we were able to bring lacrosse into Taiwan. The Taiwan Lacrosse Association would like to express its heartfelt gratitude to Hong Kong Lacrosse Association, Japan Lacrosse Association, The Development Committee in Federation of International Lacrosse and all those who have given us professional advice and support throughout the development process.

We would like to give special thanks to Mr. Joe Tsai. Without his support, we would not have been able to train a group of seeded athletes to compete internationally in such a short period of time. Not only is Mr. Tsai passionate about lacrosse, but he is also delighted to aid the development of the sport, and watch it grow and prosper in his hometown. These athletes have had the opportunity to learn the sport and to broaden their horizons through lacrosse thanks to Mr. Tsai’s generous support and encouragement.

Starting something new from the ground up can often be time consuming and may seem like a never-ending journey, but the Taiwan Lacrosse Association will continue to persevere with absolute passion to spread and develop lacrosse in Taiwan.
